Welcome
It can truly be said that the pen is mightier than the sword…….unless, of course, the sword is really, really big.
That being said, welcome to the Greater Augusta Writers Club. What you will find here is a bunch of well-meaning, if not quite sane, people that believe in the passion of writing, the love of creating stories that fire the imagination. It is our goal to push our limits while supporting each other through critiques and advice, and more than a little coffee.
We are not professionals and we are proud of that fact. We love to write, plain and simple. So our comments, though sometimes not what you wanted to hear, are given with the a healthy dose of understanding.
Weekly Meetings
Yep, we meet once a week. It’s really more of a support group kinda thing, getting together to go over edits, critiques, trade chapters and such. We currently meet on Sundays at Books-a-Million on Washington Road, just past I-20 starting at around 9am (when the store opens). Most of us are out of there by 2ish. It’s open to anyone that wants to sit and talk writing, or even just sip coffee and stare at crazy writers. We allow it all.
So feel free to join us on our journey of enlightenment. Many of the roads will be bumpy and I can assure you that the kids will drive you nuts, but the ride will be worth it.
I promise.
Now..
Visit the pages of our writers listed to the right or feel free to comment on one of our own pages. Visit our Challenges page and see what we are up against at the moment; see what our writers are ranting about in our Bulletin Board; and, as always, have fun.
